My dress was too big on the day of wedding. Say something or let it go?

So I'm from Ohio I got my dress in New York and I spent a hefty penny on alterations for their expedited out of town alterations. First day was rough per usual second day I loved the changes they had made fit better sleeves were tighter as you can see I'm heavy-chested so the girls were secure. Third day we had quality check tried it on for the final time with the veil and I loved it It was stunning I would have never thought I would have had to try my dress back on again before my wedding. I got my alterations done the last week of May and my wedding was June 24th. I kid you not the day of my wedding when I put the dress on the dress was pretty much falling off no matter how tight we tied that corset. My friend who was my maid of honor thinks I should say something and my point of view is I already wore the dress like what more can they do for me but I just know that the sleeves are falling off if I made one wrong movement it would have been a nip slip. I mean if I lost some weight great but this was to me drastic especially in the sleeves below our photos of how I was in my fitting versus the day of. Should I just let it go I'm trying I think just seeing some of my photos come back I'm just like what the hell happened. I'm trying not to let it get to me but I just loved how snatched my dress was during the fitting and finally having something that secured my girls and then just to basically be fumbling trying to keep my dress up the day of was so discouraging. My dress was too big on the day of wedding. It sounds like you lost weight during the last month leading up to your wedding. (Yay!.... but boooo for alterations!) This is why most people have their final fitting a week or 2 before their wedding date. Ultimately, it's not the seamstress' fault you lost weight after your final fitting, and they wouldn't be responsible for any sort of compensation since they didn't do anything wrong. So I don't think saying anything would be helpful for anyone. I would just focus on the fact that you looked beautiful on your wedding day, and you got to marry your person!

Like PP said, It sounds like when you walked away from the final fitting you were well fitted and happy, so at that point the seamstress did their job exactly as they should've! Anything that happens after that final appointment (weight gain/loss, damage to the dress, etc) is on the bride, not the seamstress.

It stinks that you were unhappy with the day of, but really there isn't anything to be done. Hopefully you still had a fun and lovely wedding! All there is to do now is let your friends who are getting married know to do their final fitting as close to the wedding day as possible and tell your experience. And of course enjoy being married!
