Just Said Yes April 2022

Haven’t received wedding video from videographer.

My husband and I got married on April 30, 2022. Everything was perfect, all of our vendors were wonderful and delivered what we had paid for. The exception is our videographer.
Initially, she sent a very long email in September saying she had fallen behind as she had to take on so many weddings to offset what she lost due to Covid. Fine.
Then I reached out again for an update and she said that her turnaround time would be 1 year. This was not stipulated in the contract, but again, fine. Then in April she sent another email saying that she would be posting on social media for marketing purposes but that wouldn’t impact us getting our video. She also stated that we would have our video on July 12th.July 12th came and went and I’ve tried to contact her daily since with no response.I don’t know if I’m the only bride suffering this unfortunate experience, but I’m pissed off and sad. I asked her to provide me with all of the raw footage as well as a full refund, but without her responding I’m not sure what my next steps are.All of her reviews on all outlets were 5 stars so I had no reason to expect that this would be my experience.

OMG A YEAR?! A YEAR?!! You have been insanely patient and understanding with this person. I would have lost my $#!% if my videographer changed their turnaround time to A YEAR! Tbh, I would have demanded all my footage and at least half a refund right then! Asking for all your raw footage and a refund over a year later is beyond reasonable. Does she have a location you can show up to in-person? She can't ignore you if you're standing in front of her! If not, you basically have 2 choices:

    1. Just continue to wait it out and hope she finally delivers something. Or 2. Email her one last time letting her know that you have been more than reasonable and accommodating with her. But if you don't have either

    A. your wedding video, or

    B. All your raw footage

by X date, you will be forced to file a police report (because this is totally theft! You paid for a product, and have not received it), and will have to seek legal ramifications.

Neither are great options. I'm so sorry you're going through this! I hope it all works out! No matter what though, once everything is completely resolved, I would 100% write bad reviews about her EVERYWHERE.

Oh wow, that is a very long time to wait for a wedding video! Since she has stopped replying, I would send another email (and maybe also send her a message on social media to her business page, just in case she doesn't receive your email) to say that you are requesting your wedding video and raw footage by the end of July 2023, otherwise you will be looking into legal action. I would wait to leave reviews for her until after you have received either your video or a full refund (ideally both), but once you have those, definitely leave reviews for her on Google, Facebook, WeddingWire, The Knot, and anywhere else that her business is listed. Good luck, I hope you are able to get your wedding video and refund soon!!

As Lisa said, I would give her an absolute deadline and if she fails to comply, I would retain a lawyer. How difficult this must be for you. I would be really upset. Try not to make emotional decisions. Pursue legal action when she has left you no other choice.
